Australian International Design Awards.
Applications are now open for the 2013 Australian International Design Awards.
Design awards present an opportunity for peer recognition and for getting your designs into a broader arena. They are a way to promote what you are doing and engage people in the ideas that you have been developing.
Deciding which awards to participate in depends very much on the nature of exposure you are looking for and your capacity to meet the demand such exposure will bring you.
The Australian International Design Awards are amongst a suite of design recognition events that now take place in Australia. For the first time this year, these awards are aligned to Vivid Sydney, the annual festival of light, music and ideas, to create the inaugural Australian International Design Festival.
The Design Festival will take place during Vivid Sydney 2013 from 30 May to 10 June. It promises tantalizing events for both designers and design lovers that feature an international design conference, a public design showcase, the prestigious Australian International Design Awards Presentation Ceremony plus a series of ‘design celebrations’ at major public venues such as Westfield shopping centres.
If you are a designer and are interested in participating in the awards, the Australian International Design Awards have begun a call for entries. They accept professionally designed products and services across the following areas:
Housewares and Objects
Babies and Children
Fashion and Accessories
Sport and Leisure
Automotive and Transport
Commercial and Industrial
Medical and Scientific
Hardware and Building
Furniture and Lighting
Architecture and Interiors
Packaging and Graphics
Digital and Online
Entries close on Thursday 28 March 2013, so get your skates on.
If you are not a designer but are interested to see what is going on in the world of design and innovation, stay tuned for further announcements about the inaugural Australian International Design Festival to take place at the end of May 2013.
